The systems behind configurable product sales.

KoppelOS helps companies selling configurable products simplify product configuration, pricing, quoting and order handover by connecting the rules, tools and data behind the sales process.

Where complex product sales break

The product is configurable. The process around it usually is not.

As product options, pricing rules and sales channels grow, the workflow between customer requirement and production-ready order becomes increasingly difficult to manage.

Quotes take too long

Salespeople collect product details, confirm technical options and calculate prices across several tools before an offer can be sent.

Product knowledge depends on individuals

Important rules, exceptions and valid combinations live in spreadsheets, documents or the experience of a few employees.

Pricing is difficult to control

Costs, discounts, options and margins are applied inconsistently or require manual verification.

Sales and operations use different data

The approved quotation does not automatically become the complete information required by ERP, suppliers or production.

Product changes create rework

Customer revisions trigger repeated calculations, document updates and manual communication across departments.

Existing systems do not cover the whole workflow

CRM, ERP, CAD and product data tools each handle part of the process, but the gaps between them remain manual.

Who we help

Built for businesses selling configurable physical products

The industries differ, but the operating challenge is similar: customer requirements must be translated into a valid configuration, accurate price and complete order.

  • Furniture and interior systems
  • Kitchens and made-to-measure products
  • Windows, doors and building systems
  • Outdoor-living and shading systems
  • Storage and retail equipment
  • Industrial machinery and specialist equipment

The common factor is not the industry. It is a product that requires choices, rules or technical validation before it can be quoted and delivered.

Services

A practical path from operational friction to a connected system

You do not need to know which software to buy or what should be custom-built. The work begins by understanding the current process and identifying the smallest improvement with meaningful business value.

01

Understand the workflow

Map how customer requirements move through configuration, pricing, quotation, approval and order handover. Identify the bottlenecks, system gaps and highest-value improvement.

Deliverables

  • Current workflow map
  • System and data-flow map
  • Product and pricing logic summary
  • Prioritized implementation roadmap
02

Fix the highest-value bottleneck

Implement a focused improvement where manual work, errors or delays create the greatest cost.

Examples

  • Pricing calculator
  • Quote generation
  • Product validation
  • CRM/ERP integration
  • Order handover
  • Configurator prototype
03

Build the connected system

Design and implement the operational system connecting product logic, pricing, quotation, customer data and downstream operations.

Examples

  • Product configurators
  • Pricing and rules engines
  • Dealer or sales portals
  • CRM/ERP integrations
  • BOM and order generation
  • Reporting and administration tools

Depending on the problem, the solution may combine existing software, integrations, custom applications, CAD or 3D workflows, cloud services and applied AI.

Selected work

Systems built around real operational constraints

The strongest work begins where standard tools stop fitting the product, pricing model or existing business process.

Flagship case study

Interior design and furniture company

A custom system for configuring, pricing and delivering made-to-order interiors

Context

A Scandinavian furniture and interior company needed a digital workflow flexible enough to support highly configurable products, three-dimensional modelling, pricing and downstream operational data.

Challenge

No standard configurator or CPQ platform could support the company’s product logic, visual design workflow and connections with its existing systems.

Solution

KoppelOS designed and built a custom system centred around SketchUp. The company’s team can configure and model products in 3D, work with a flexible digital component inventory, validate configurations, calculate pricing, prepare customer-facing summaries and generate information required for quotation, installation and operations.

The workflow is connected with the company’s CRM and ERP systems, reducing the number of disconnected steps between product design, sales and delivery.

Capabilities

  • 3D product configuration
  • Digital component inventory
  • Pricing and validation
  • Customer summaries and quotes
  • Installation and operational data
  • CRM and ERP connections

Outcome

Instead of adapting its business to generic software, the company gained a connected operational system designed around the way it actually sells and delivers configurable products.

  • SketchUp
  • Ruby API
  • JavaScript
  • Cloud services
  • CRM/ERP

Supporting work

Focused improvements around the workflow

Pricing workflow

ERP-connected pricing calculator

Problem
Pricing depended on spreadsheets and product data that required manual updates.
Solution
An internal calculator connected to ERP product prices and business-specific pricing logic.
Business value
A faster and more controlled quoting workflow using current product data.
  • ERP API
  • Cloud Run
  • REST APIs
  • Docker

Sales-to-operations handover

Booking and producer integrations into CRM

Problem
Booking and production details were split between external tools and the CRM, creating manual sales-to-operations handoffs.
Solution
Automated booking flows and secure CRM panels brought production-order information into the operational workflow.
Business value
Sales bookings and production work became connected inside one workflow, reducing manual data transfer.
  • CRM
  • Zapier
  • n8n
  • Secure UI panels

Operational data

Cloud reporting and ERP workflows

Problem
Recurring business reports required manual exports and repeated preparation.
Solution
Cloud-based workflows generated scheduled PDF and CSV outputs from ERP and CRM data.
Business value
Centralized reporting logic and more reliable recurring operational outputs.
  • Python
  • Cloud Run
  • ERP/CRM APIs
  • GitHub Actions

Quote-to-Order Assessment

A focused assessment of how your company moves from customer requirement through configuration, pricing and quotation to a complete order. The result is a clear map of the current process, the main sources of friction and a practical implementation roadmap.

The 60–120 minute interview is one part of the assessment. The fee also covers preparation, analysis, process mapping, written recommendations and a follow-up review.

€750

  • Preparation and context review
  • Stakeholder workflow interview
  • Current quote-to-order map
  • System and data-flow map
  • Configuration and pricing bottlenecks
  • Prioritized improvement opportunities
  • Recommended first implementation
  • Follow-up review
  • Fixed-scope proposal where appropriate

About

Direct senior involvement from discovery to delivery

KoppelOS is led by Remi Koppel, a systems consultant who works directly with business owners, commercial teams and operational users to turn complex workflows into working software systems.

His strongest experience comes from supporting a Scandinavian furniture and interior business across product configuration, pricing, CRM/ERP integrations, reporting and cloud-based internal systems.

With a background in automation, control systems and ICT engineering, Remi works across business analysis, architecture and implementation rather than handing discovery to one team and delivery to another.
